Just thought i'd post this up as it may be of interest to other RCers.

Ancestry are doign 50% off DNA tests - wanted one of these doign fo a while, so thought i'd take the plunge!!!

I'm not sure what a DNA test will tell you, other than give a general region that your ancestors came from.  My main worry about DNA tests is that if they are not taken in sterile conditions, the chances of cross-contamination is quite high.

Well yes, the DNA test is useless for genealogy in its most common form, and wont help one iota in my studiesm but its still mightily interesing, in my humble opinion!

Yeah - I'm not knocking it...... I'm interested to know what the test tells you, if you'd like to post it when you find out
