I served with the four crew of Chinook ZD576, which crashed on the Mull of Kintyre.

I count myself blessed for knowing them.

Army Records, Ireland
« Reply #13 on: Friday 13 July 07 16:00 BST (UK) »
Royal Hibernian Military School. 1765 - 1924. Phoenix Park. Dublin.
The State Papers and Departmental documents relating to the RHMS are now in the National Archives (formerly the Public Records Office) at Kew1 and the Parliamentary Papers are available in the National Library of Ireland in Dublin and the Parliamentary Archives at Westminster.

Registers of the in & out-pensioners of the British Army & Militia.

Royal Kilmainham Hospital, Dublin.

P.R.O. Army Records; WO 118.

Relates to British soldiers, of any birthplace, who were stationed in Ireland.

These records are available in the library of the Australian Institute of Genealogical Studies Inc.
Could someone please tell me where to locate these records in Ireland?

South of Ireland Imperial Yeomanry - Links
« Reply #17 on: Monday 25 February 08 16:55 GMT (UK) »
Doug Vaugh's website contains some interesting articles about the South Irish Horse which existed for a mere twenty years. The regiment was raised as The South of Ireland Imperial Yeomanry in Jan 1902 and disbanded in July 1922 http://southirishhorse.com/index.htm

A useful link giving a list, including the address where they were based, of the Officers and Permanent staff of the "South of Ireland Imperial Yeomanry" http://southirishhorse.com/documents/siy_officer_perm_staff.htm
