Hi Ian,

I think you do need that cert to confirm father as this looks like her.  :-\

Hannah BLIGHT 30 Sep 1821 Illogan parents Stephen and Mary

Stephen BLIGHT = Mary KEMP 24 Mar 1804 Illogan

Looks like Mary is in Illogan in 1841 with some of her children - no Hannah present.

Cheers Kris  :D

Hi
I too have the same info of Hannah Blight marrying James Jeffery in Illogan, in 1840. They did have more children than Jane b 1841, Eliza, Hannah, James, Edward, Stephen, Robert. These are names I have from the census records, so there  maybe more in between.
James seems to die 1851-1861, and after 1871 there is grandchildren living with Hannah.
I am from Janes line, who married a James Harris Andrew, and they went to Australia, and then on to New Zealand.
Have quite a few "Jeffery" names also if you are interested.

Hi again.

Looks like Eliza marries the "HODGE", as I found Hannahs surname as MITCHELL in 1871 census.

So interesting when I found this blog tonight.  I am from Stephen Blight Jeffery who was Hannah and James son.  I would be very interested in any help you could give me on this family, or the ancestors and/or any sites with good information.  I know that Stephen, who was my grandmothers father, was killed in a mining accident in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1899.

I need to correct a wrong statement:  Stephen did not die in a mining accident.  He was working as a carpenter for an English company that was building train stations in south Africa.  He was there only about three years when he became ill with dysentery.  He was alone when he became ill and by the time help came to him he was too ill to recover.  He died Jan 31, 1899.  My grandmother, was his daughter and she was 11 years old at the time.  My mother, her daughter just told me this story about his death.  Sorry for the error, I was confusing him with one of his sons who was killed in a mining accident in Cornwall around 1919.
