My 2xg.grandfather was called Daniel FORD, (occupation Farmer) his son, John, was born in  the Kinsale, area Co Cork c .1834.
The other information I have on John FORD is that he migrated across to Newport, Monmouth, Wales, with his wife Mary.. c.1857. They had a daughter, Mary Ann, who was born in Newport in 1857. In 1861 John became a widower, the family were living in Stroud, Gloucestershire by then. John remarried later that year to a girl called Emma COOK, who was born Whiteshill or Randwick, by  Stroud, Gloucestershire. Both John and Emma were Tailors by trade, as was John's first wife. I have a photo of Emma COOK, and more info: on her.

Jane.

Thanks for replying.

That's very interesting as Thomas FORD on the 1881 census in Bristol, not to far from Newport.

Do you know of anywhere I can find passenger lists from Cork to the South West of England around that time?

Regards
