New Sticky Topic about Photographing Gravestones!!!
« on: Saturday 26 July 08 09:47 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone!
Sorry to have been so absent from the boards lately, I have been completely consumed by a conference that I was planning and presenting at, but it's over now, so I'm back with a vengeance  ;D

My first job has been to create a new "sticky" topic about photographing gravestones.  This information has been very kindly provided by Rootschatter Emjaybee and there is a keen group of dedicated Photo Restoration Board volunteers ready to help with any questions or problems Rootschatters might be having with photographing and deciphering gravestones and other inscriptions.

Please visit the topic (it's only short at the moment, but we hope it will grow) and make your suggestions for its development either on this thread, or to me via PM.

Best wishes

PrueM

**Moderator comment:  message split from http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,317518.0.html**

Graves do not always point in the same way in graveyards.  In my local graveyard, cleargy are always pointing in the direction of the other graves.
POSTEES: If possible, PLEASE, scan your images at 300 - 600 dpi, for both ease of restoration and best results
RESTORERS: Feel free to change/improve/colour any restorations posted by myself.  Acknowledgment would be appreciated.
