CB,
you will need more information:
*your heading is for Mackreth but you ask for Mackreath
   * can't find anywhere called Rendel but there are some names in Kendal

1851 has
   *4 James MacKereth
   *1 James MacKoreth
   *1 Elizabeth MacKreth
*3 Elizabeth MacKereth (2 are wives)

and so on.

What else do you know?

best wishes

Thanks Heywood,

I have managed to decipher a particularly bad photocopy.

Mackreath was obviously a difficult spelling hence the number of variations.

I have Mary b 1814 Kendal. She married Thomas Trotter about 1841 in Sunderland so may not appear on the Census with her parents.
Father James b 1789 Hawkshead
Mother Mary, looks like b Gasting, Lancs. ?

James father was also believed to be James.  That is all i can tell you.
Sorry its not much, but any help appreciated,
Chris.

This looks as though it could be Mary and Thomas- the census was taken 6th June 1861 so they would be married:

1841 HO107; Piece 310; Book: 13;  Folio: 14; Page: 23

Ford

Sylva Trotter 60yrs waterman
Ann 65 yrs
Thomas 28 yrs waterman
Mary 28 yrs
Mary 23 yrs

all born in county - now we know that Mary wasn't born in county but it could well be her - again rounded ages and realtionships not given  presumably that is sister Mary 23 yrs.
This does look plausible - Thomas may have become a paper maker later.

I am so pleased with this one:

Family Search IGI extracted record

Marriage: 26 Nov 1810 Garstang Lancashire

James Mackaeth and Mary Gardner

There is also a christening for a James Mackreth in 1791 Kendal- parents John and Ann - possibility?
There are lot of other entries for these parents

Thank you very much Heywood.

I had just pressed the post button on my reply, when your last two posts arrived. Unfortunately my post does not seem to have attached its self to this topic.
However, i was just thanking you for the information, much more than i expected. But i did ask a couple of questions both of which were answered in your last posts.  On the basis of your physic ability, could you pass me the lottery numbers for Saturday!!
I now believe that the name you listed on your first post will all be related, possibly even James Srs parents.
The bonus was Mary Gardner of Garstang. (Liverpool)?

Thank you one again Heywood,
Chris.
