Thank you ..Thank you ...for your reply

I was thinking maybe my Grandmother was born on a lane or ditch or something.as the cert had no address ,only 'the entry'

Do you know if the houses are old, as she was born in 1906,and has the church got a grave yard?........and this is a long shot.... but do you know of any families in the area called Mayne, Todd, Kirkpatrick,Gault,Twig,McIlhenny,Topping, Crone,McCall as they could be related to me.

Thank you again ..from Stevenson ,who is very excited

Hiya Steve,

A guy named John Crone owned a public house in Pilot Street, in the Docks area of Belfast, in the 1870s.

hi there
i just joined this site after i typed into the search engine about my granda, he was george mcgrugan and the names above are his brothers and sister, my dads name is also george mcgrugan.

and referring to the question about where the 'entry'  is in doagh, my mum was born in doagh and said that the entry is just up a bit from McConnells pub in doagh.

I found your site to-day after i googled william gault doagh. i was out walking and called at Kilbride Pres. graveyard about 2miles above doagh. I found the headstone of william gault, a school teacher who started the first sunday school in doagh in 1777 in the face of much opposition it states on the stone.
This may be of interest to you as you mention Gault in your history. Also visit www.ollar.utvinternet.com/kilbride.htm for a picture of the burial site.

i know where the entry is as i live beside it.
it is a lane with about 7 houses on the right, a church and a playschool to the left.
doagh is situated outside of ballyclare in county antrim. :)
Is the church Methodist? next to Masonic Hall (or at least what used to be Masonic Hall)? Terrace of houses accross called Lyle View Terrace? I was there this afternoon.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
