Dear Chris.
I am the grandson of John  Rosser who was your grandmother's youngest brother.Their mother was Elisabeth, she is buried in Skenfrith church.Elisabethwas deserted by her husband,Joseph who traveled to the Klondike in the Yukon of Canada looking for gold. Joseph was never to return and ended his days with his brother in the Cleveland aria of Ohio.
Elisabethwas a Plymouth Brethren and Joseph was a catholic. The family did not approve of the marriage and poor Elisabethwas also deserted by the rest of the family leaving her to bring up her seven children with no help and in great poverty. My grandfather always hated Catholics because of this he referred to his grandfather who was a wealthy farmer as the Pope
I hope this is of interest to you
                                                        best regards
                                                                            David Rosser

David...I'm terribly sorry...I missed your email completely *hangs head on shame* regarding the Pope of Skenfrith. So 7 years later,I realise that I must have met your grandparents (Jack and Elsie)at the chicken farm near Hereford. My Dad drove us up there in the summer of 1970 and I also met Rupert and his wife Marjorie(?)My grandma Jane Rosser was Jacks (Johns) sister so am I right in thinking that you're Christine's son?

Hello Chris.
I do not know when you replied to my email re your grandparents as I cannot find a year date on it, or when you wrote your original request for the same reason. I am writing this on 03/12/ 2021. as I have only just seen your reply.
My father was John Reg Rosser( known as Reg ) who was Jack and Elsie's eldest son and my mother was Iris Stephens. When you visited during 1970 I was starting my apprenticeship in Bristol and my parents were in business in Cardiff, returning to Hereford in 1971
I do not remember any of Jacks' siblings  and the only one that I met was George's widow Lizzie who lived in Usk.
                                Best Regards Dave Rosser.
