Hello Maggie
I'm glad you were able to find two of the graves you were looking for & you enjoyed your visit to Folkestone.
Being able to stay in the room where you Mother was born must have made your visit extra-special.

For anyone else finding this thread & wanting help to find a grave, a little extra information -
Some of the graves are fairly recent, I've seen several mid to late 1900s, & there are a few early 2000s,. The most recent burial was in 2012, although in an older grave.

There are several military graves, usually easy to spot so I have put these on findagrave.com.
Any headstones that catch my eye & look interesting are also on findagrave.
Last time I was there my camera battery ran out just as I found a particularly interesting area, so it's an excuse to make another visit (if it ever stops raining!)

Hi
I am interested in the headstones of the victims of the WWI bombing raid victims.  Many were buried in this cemetery I believe.  I have an index of names of those until 1982 from Folkestone and District Family History Society that mentions plot numbers and gives a rough map but no map on plot numbers.  I think on this threat people have mentioned another map.  Does anybody have a map of the plot layouts? I need this quite urgently for a project with 48 young people 24 from Belgium next week.

many thanks

thanks for the quick reply!

Do you know if the plot numbers are easy to find? I have never done this before and the thought of 48 students doing it is rather worrying!

Zoe,

the cemetery is very overgrown but I found it easy enough to find a particular plot. The area where my relative is buried is marked as per my new attachment, which is laid out left to right like reading a book.

I can only presuming the other plots are arranged in a similar fashion. But the council will be able to confirm that.
