Jacky:
Thanks for your help. I will follow up on your suggestions.

Geoffe:
I believe the Risby house I am looking for is near Tealby. According to the census data Edward Brice (my great grandfather) was born in Tealby. He and his family resided in the house starting in the mid 1800's. The census data also references the Civil Parish of Walesby.

Is it possible that the existing farmhouse is the same one (with some improvements I hope)

thanks again.......... Bill

Hi

I was researching the House and the area last year.
My great great grandmother worked as an housemaid on the 1851 census.
I did find photos too.

Where do you fit in with the house and did you find any more information.

June:

I am related to the Brice family who were tenant farmers at Risby House circa 1780 - 1875. My great grandfather Henry T. W. Brice was born at Risby House 18 Nov 1860.

I have photos of the house and information about the Brice family that I would be happy to share with you.

Send me a message at RootsChat and I will send you an email address so we can communicate directly.

My family tree is on ancestry.com: FAMILY 19 (08-09-15). If you are a member send me (wcd2204) a message and I will send you my email address.

Hi Jacky,

My Grandparents Fred Chantry and Winnifred Willoughby lived at Risby for many years.

There is a manor and also another house known as Risby House in addition to a couple of others.

My Grandad was the farm foreman. It was then farmed by Roger Gillett. I believe that Christs College may own the land now.

At the time a lady called Mrs Fenwick lived in the manor.
