Hi Bryant

It's not particularly Scottish. It's the 1841 census and age grouping. I always put obviously 'grouped' ages in that format.

Hello Gadget

its obvious now, I generally do the same......

1841 census rules apply ie 25-29=25, 30-34=30 etc.........

I thought for some reason it was something unfamiliar and Scottish!

Thanks

Just to say that I am helping to trace the family of a friend, David Bullions who lives here in London. I can confirm that he is the gr-gr-gr-gr-gr grandson of Thomas Bullion mentioned at the foot of the page. He married Betty Anderson in Scotland and produced a son John in 1837. David is a direct descendent of John. The family came to South London after 1841 so do not appear in the 1841 English/Welsh census. By the way name Bullions, Bullion and Bulleans are interchangeable.  John appears in the 1851 census quoted in the article. Your correspondent cannot decipher the street name. I know the area but cannot decipher the address either. There is reference in the article to the 1871 census (35 Gravel Lane). I do not know who Mary de Bullions was but the Bullions family I have a record of was at 25 Gravel Lane. They were at 29 Gravel Lane in 1861. Most grateful for the reference to the marriage of Thomas Bullion in 1834. It was the missing link.  The first reference to the 1871 census. Just wondering if this is the Elizabeth Anderson who married in 1834 and who is visiting her daughter Catherine born in 1842.
