For what its worth I still think Ellen is his wife...I think William was off Licenced Victualling and earning the money while Ellen stayed home looking after the disabled William.

In 1891 they all lived close together in Romford and its possible that in the 1901 when Ellen was in Shorditch it could be some sort of special unit for Williams disability especially as there were other disabled people were there.

Deperatly trying to make it all fit for you!!!!!

There is also a death for a William Henry Meadmore (b 1890) died 1908 in Stepney age 18.

The 1891 Cencus has him as William H.

Just dashing in on my way out.......
This is brilliant, thanks ;D

I  understand where your coming from when you say you still believe Ellen to be his wife.

I would appreciate census transcripts please.

I wonder if William the son that died in 1908 was the last in the Meadmore line?

These families don't make it easy when they name all sons 'William' do they ::)

Hi there.

I am currently looking into my family history and have a Bible here, which so we believe is our family bible. (TBC).

I have been looking through ancestry.co.uk and Google and typed in Ellen hollowbread's name on the off chance and find this conversation between you both. It's only when meadmore came up I thought maybe there would be a connection...

I am hoping we could help each other with this.
