Hi Susan

Ireland does look more likely for birth - and I have zero research success there. Could they have thus married in the Catholic Church - that may be why the marriage is difficult to find.

The ages are interesting. In 1901 Agnes is still living with son William - I don't have the image but at 16 Argyle St Maryhill Glasgow
William McPherson born Paisley coal miner is 40 years old (either a mistranscription of 49, or he has aged 1 year) and Agnes McPherson born Ireland is 87 years old  :o  ::)

A couple of years later Agnes is 64  :-\  I did wonder why son Thomas was the informant, given that she spent the past many years living with William?

If the name Muir is correct for mother of Agnes, there were certainly lots of Muirs in Renfrew - my ggg grandmother was a Muir born Renfrew 1799 married in Paisley 1820.

Probably completely unrelated - but some of the Muirs

Hello
I am very new to this research but have stumbled across your posts.
My paternal Grandmother was Agnes Wallace McPherson, Maryhill Glasgow.
Her parents were Robert Henderson McPherson & Sarah McPhail Campbell.
I believe her DOB is 30/11/1894, as she married in 1919 at age 25.
Agnes had a brother James who was killed on 30/9/1916, and another brother Robert, but I don't have much info on him. I'm not sure if there were other siblings yet.
I thought I'd share in case this helps you in any way.
As I say, I am just starting, so I apologise if I am 'butting" in.
 :)

Thanks for the info.  I would like to know about your family connection.  James who died 1916 in Greece was a member of the 1st Btn Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.  Please send a private message and I will send my email to you.

Susan
