Hi
That sounds like my grandfather and grandmother. They lived in Cornanane, Manorhamilton. Are you related? What do you need to find out about them?

Bonjour, I'm Pascal, living in France with Kathleen GILROY, daugther of *, * and * our two sons. Michael and Lucy were Katie's grand parents and of course * and *'s great grand parents.

We would like to built our family tree from the Irish side, their Irish roots, to know more about this part of our family and kept contact if it's possible.

THANKS FOR YOUR ANSWER. Pascal PECHARD

Pascal

I am only just after logging on tho this site after such a long time. I am Kathleens cousin Michael Gilroy (son of Eugene). I think I might have met you at Michael's funeral in Cork.

Hi Michael, thanks for your answer. So I'm the son in law of James Keiran GILROY born Manorhamilton, 09.09.1944, died in England 17.02.2004. Kathleen just says to me that she has an uncle called Eugene, brother of his father Michael.

So, I think there is no mistake when you say that you are Kathleen's cousin and we are very happy to hear you Michael and about our Irish's family in Manohamilton.

I have began to built the family tree from our  Irish's family and these are these information I have :

James Keiran's parent were GILROY Michael and Lucy ROONEY,

His parents were GILROY Michael (I don't know his B,M,D dates) and FEELY Kate born 18.2.1866 Lurganboy

Michael parents were GILROY Owen and ? Terence (these are the only information I have)

Kate's parents were FEELY Terence and Mac Daniel or Mac Donald Bridget (these are the only information I have).

I hope you are a relative with us, and hope we can confirm these information and share together about the roots of my 2 sons who have roots in Ireland and proud about these roots.

Thanks for your answer.  (and sorry for my english ! ) Pascal

Do you have any earlier information on the name Rooney in the Manorhamilton District?

In my research, the records I have has a Mary Rooney (b. 1825 and d. aft. 1901) who married a Patrick Gallagher, possibly around 1845. They had numerous children. Their son, Patrick Gallagher Jr., b. 1853, Killargue Parish, Co. Leitrim married my maternal grandfather's sister, Alice McKiernan/McKernan, in Drumkeeran, Co. Leitrim.  Alice's mother, my great grandmother, was Mary Clancy (Bryan) McKiernan/McKernan.    Seeing that you have a first name  of Keiran makes me wonder if all these families are all related in some way.  What I know of my specific line, I have at least two of my grandfather's siblings who married Gallaghers, one of them, my great Uncle John, was a widower, and remarried another Gallagher.

Please let me know if anything here may be familiar.

Thank you.
