Hi Audrey

This is the closest I can see for Robert and William in 1861, so happens together - can't easily see David unfortunately:

Jane Black 63, head
Robert Douglas 21, lodger, plumber, b. Locking, Dumfries
William Douglas 19, lodger, Confectioner, b. Collin, Dumfries
Thomas McLellan 21, lodger
Agnes Miller 25, lodger
Robert Miller 25, lodger

Address: 45 High Street, Dumfries

thanks that looks like them the older brother John, who they were all with in 1851 was also a confectioner .This family has been all over the place two of the sisters Elizabeth & Mary were with the grandparents James Smith & Jean Glendenning  in 1841  I am finding Douglases  very hard to follow so I am very gratefull
