Researching Bury families in and around Worcester including Stourbridge and Kidderminster.   Edward, John & Frances (1823-1831) in particular are proving elusive! :)

Frances Bury Abt 1799 Worcestershire, England
Sarah Bury abt 1825 Worcestershire, England

Thank you Cheryl
Yes!  This is the family I am looking at!  I do have some of them in the earlier census but have been unable to tidy them up and finish them off!  I'd like to find the marriage and burial refs for them, and of course, extensions to the family
Thank you for your interest

Had a look on freeBMD.

Edward Bury died Dec 1861 in Tenbury - doesn't state age.
Sarah Bury died Jun 1864 in Tenbury - no age.

Could not find Frances Bury - maybe under maiden name?

BRITTEN  Frances Fanny  79 Mar 1872 in Tenbury
WHEELER  Frances  84 Jun 1874 in Tenbury
HOLLAND  Frances  87 Dec 1883 in Tenbury

regards Cheryl

Hi all,

I'm new to this family tree business. It seems quite addictive, I'm almost hooked already. Do any of your Bury trees link with:

My gran, Vera Bury, born Malvern 1889.
Her sister, Evelyn Bury, born Malvern 1897.

I'm particularly interested in establishing the name of Vera Bury's husband (her married surname was East) and discovering his fate as he disappeared without trace from the East family records in the 1930's.

Thanks.

Hello John

Thanks for the contact

Doesn't look as though we connect at the moment - the Bury families were quite extensive and it sometimes takes a lot of sifting and sorting to find the matches.

Have you traced your Bury families through the various censii?  If you are able to supply a bit more information I may be able to connect your lot in to some of the Bury Wills that I am slowly decoding!!  I thought it could be another way of connecting up the families and slot my lot in!  I also have some information in my data base that may be of help

Your Gr Aunt married Frank East 4Q 1910 in Upton, Worcester.  Her two sons births are on the free bmd site, as is her marriage.  Gt Aunt Vera's father appears to be Edward Bury born Stoke Lacey c 1844 as per the 1891 census etc.   I am rather interested in him as the Edwards appear frequently in my tree.  Let's keep in touch!

Regards

Amaris,
Thanks for the reply. Vera Bury had three sons, not two. John (known as Jack) born in 1911, Dennis born around 1914 were my uncles, and William (My father) was born in 1913.

The family experienced a tragedy in 1915 when the father (my grandfather) Frank East died. William was despatched up to relatives in Lancashire to be raised because Vera Bury suffered some sort of breakdown at the time and couldn't cope.

I assume the Lancashire family were relatives of Vera. Do you have a Lancashire "Bury" link on your tree?

Hello again, John

Have you covered much research into your Bury family.  I spent some time yesterday having a poke around and can email some results if you care to email me at  (*)

I really just need to know whether you have researched Edward Bury of Stoke Lacey and his two wives and families etc so I don't spend time on looking for what you may already have!

I was suprised to see family connections of yours registered in Martley as that is where some of my Bury's hail from - have to look for a possible connection and so as much as you feel you can share with me will be valuable.

Regards
