Hmm and I just found Mary Leslie Lamb, the daughter.

Married Thomas Howard Macfarlane on Quadra Island in 1930 and she died in Port Hardy in 1973.  Methinks another trip to the library is in order.....

You're so good to me... I think I've found her birth 1909 but it has restricted access - might be available next year!

I've tracked Ellen Poynton. She married William Henry Wheeley in 1Q 1903 in Nottingham, England - must have travelled to Canada after that date with her husband.

Opps..  just noticed you beat me to it JJ thanks very much  ;D You've found his death too that's brilliant. Thank you

Thanks Helena and Nell,

That's excellent - I'd found those two children but couldn't prove they were Ellen's.  There seems to be a daughter who died as an infant Doris Mary Wheeley b.1904 d.1904 Basford, Nottinghamshire, England
