Wow that's amazing IndisVanyar - there's a lot of info there and it confirms my theory that Doris was Ellen's daughter.

Arthur and I share the same birthday too!! (I'm younger)

Name of friend - Arthur Highway Wheeler)

I think that this must be William's brother if the info on the One World Tree is correct, mistranscribed as Wheeler.

I have had no success as yet locating any of them in a census :(

Perhaps someone else will see whatever I am not seeing.

Should be on 1911 but can't spot the Wheeley family...already moved on, or horribly misstrancribed...
found another family came over around the same time...so should be in this district! :-\

Death of William Henry Wheeley

Born 11 Feb 1878 in England, occupation Employee of ? (couldn't read the name - I know of two that operated in Vancouver, the Rogers and the BC) Sugar Refinery, died at Vancouver General Hospital, admitted 3 days before death, COD Auto Accident fractured leg ruptured spleen died of septicemia.  Residence 235 29th Ave East Vancouver, in Vancouver 10mos, in BC 10mos, in Canada 11yrs, father James Alfred Wheeley born England, mother Mary Highway born England, informant was Arthur Wheeley of 853 Jervis Street.  Buried at Mountain View Cemetery on 20 Aug 1919.  There was an inquest held.

I think Arthur Highway Wheeley was his brother (noted as a possibility earlier in the thread).  There is a death reg for Arthur, died Esquimalt on 8 May 1965 aged 90yrs.  I couldn't find any other relevant Wheeley registrations.

I also looked up the death reg of William Hamilton Stratton but I don't think he is the right one.  Oddly the death cert notes that he was known as Wm Hamilton Stratton but his birth certificate shows Bulloch William.  He died at Shaughnessy Hospital, also listed as his residence, he was single, retired, born in Scotland on 16 Dec 1900, father William Stratton and mother Jean Hamilton both born Scotland.  The informant was his brother A.H. Stratton.  William died of heart disease and cirrhosis of the liver.

I'm not sure how he can be a Bulloch when everyone else was a Stratton but I think the single status rules him out.
