Briggs in Ackworth (Hemsworth RD) 1901. COMPLETED
« on: Friday 10 October 08 11:05 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to find the parents of Ann Evleyn Briggs b Jun qtr 1902.
I know her mother's Maiden name was Hands and that her parents appear to be having kids at least until 1914.  So her mum should be at most 25-30(?)  in 1901.

I've also been told that "Mummy" Briggs nee Hands was in service at Nostell Priory prior to marriage so I expect her to be local.

What miracles can you worth with that?

Pauline

Looking at 1881 there is a Caroline Hands b Alrewas (elizabeth Coldough was Alnwas?)

I suspect the trail is warm!

I think I'll put this one to bed for a while, at least until I get confirming evidence.
1911 census will be out soon enough now, and I'm poised for a month's Ancestry membership too!

When you get Ancestry sub, check out Priscilla HANDS born abt 1867 Alrewas.
Have a feeling she may be connected (sister)   and the 'family' looks like there is a bit of sorting to be done!

Hi PaulineJ
I really hope you are still folowing this post all these years later. I came across your post because I was doing a Google search on 'Caroline Briggs nee Hands'. She was my Great Grandmother and I am trying to find out what happened to her after 1911. I can't find a death certificate or any other clues. I wondered if your search had reached any conclusions or if you have anything that might help me? Thanks so much. From your post I am wondering if we might be related?
