Hello DDjjake..
Nice to hear from you again. Glad you liked the photo and that it brought back some happy memories for you.
The photo was taken from the grave site on my great grandfather, Peter Ferguson. I intend to try and get some better shots next time I am there and the weather is OK.

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you will enjoy the camaraderie and knowledge that you will find here in abundance.
I do have a John Ferguson who was born to Donald Ferguson and Marran Ferguson in 1803. Unfortunately I have no further details on him.

Cheers.

Thank you,
and thank you for the welcome.     No these names did not appear for that period in the family I came across.   I have been amazed at just how many Ferguson families do appear in the records for Kincardine, Kilmadock and the Brig o' Turk area for this period.
Many thanks

Thanks Vair,
I have been trying, as a side issue, to untangle the next generation of this family but it is obvious now that I need to get into some real records and keep them separate from all the other Fergusons.
Many thanks

Nice one Patvp, I thought you had hit my nail on the head with that.
But then I read it again, s l o w l y.
The Peter Ferguson I have for that era was born in 1801 and none of the dates match my chart.

I have sent you a copy of my early chart via email.

Cheers.

(oops...Sorry Pat, I thought I had a copy of your email address but I was wrong.)

  Hi folks ,
I was wondering what was the date when the Kincardine parish church in this photo was built ?
And is there someone who will do grave site look up in this parish ?
Thank you for your time.     Taylor1832

Hi Taylor

It was built 1814-1816

You can read about it and the mediaeval church here

What would you like looked up? I have the MI book for that cemetery and notes about many of the oher graves I made on visits. I might be able to help.

         Hi Val,
Thank you for the information on the church, it would seem to be the spot that my 5th gen grandparents would have been married. George Taylor and Ann Mcarthur m.  May 12, 1816 .
Duncan Mcarthur and Margaret Sands  has 10 children christened in this parish ,ranging from 1780 to 1803.
At the end of some christenings entries is the towns name . Craigfranky  is one I found on the north side of
Thornhill . Burliston is a town I have not yet found .
Duncan's children are Janet, Helen, Margt., Jean, Duncan, Mary, Robert, Arthur and  Elis.
Could there be any family members in this parish's cemetery ?

Thank you again for your help.    Taylor
