There is a link above for the Atlin Historical Society that shows a list of photos held. One is of John Roxborough. I never thought to search for "Rosborough" when searching Atlin.

Might be worth your while to see what they have for both names.

I've been doing a bit more digging as well.

William Roxborough & wife Anais

Capt. W.S. Roxborough is possibly a son of Robert Alexander Roxborough and Olive Grace Simpson.
Anais (Lyband) Boyer married William McMath Roxborough.

Thanks, Janice. Had seen several books written about Atlin but don't think teh Canadian archives will do ILL to Ireland. Think I'll try to contact historical society (no website apparently).

Yukon Archives
(I believe the Archives and Historical Society are all part of their Tourism)

Yukon & Alaska Genealogy Centre

Your local LDS centre may be able to get hold of some of the books. (Possibly)

On the site Paper of Record, there is one newspaper for the Yukon that does mention "Atlin" several times. (Cannot find anything on Roxborough though).

They do update their papers every so often, so they just might get more online.

I am a granddaughter of Robert Alexander Roxborough of Atlin, BC. My mother has been doing family tree for a number of years now and of course had difficulty accessing info on those still living in Ireland.
I'm just new at this site but I have a lot of information in Family Tree Maker  on the Roxboroughs in Canada that you may be interested in and I certainly would be interested in what you may have.

What a lovely surprise to hear from you. I have lots of information on the Roxboroughs before they left Ireland and it was only fairly recently that I found they did go to Canada.
I can trace the Roxborough back as far as David Roxboroough who appears in 1831 Census. Your grandfather's mother was Catherine Kennedy McMath (also have details on them) and by a strange co-incidence two Canadian McMaths visited us here in Northern Ireland 3 days ago!
After you've made 3 posts you can use PM (personal message) system so we can exchange email addresses offline.
