BORN 22 JULY 1906 OSWESTRY - MOTHER IN DOWN ON BIRTH CERT AS SISSIE DAVIES, DOMESTIC SERVANT. RESIDENCE IS MAESBURY MARSH OSWESTRY. I CANT FIND HER ON CENSUS OF 1901 OR 1891, ANY IDEAS?
I'VE TRIED CELIA ETC.
ALSO BELIEVE HER TO BE MOTHER OF A FLORENCE M*
PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP

My grandmother was Elizabeth but called Sissy

Oswestry Registration District took in parts of Denbighshire at that time and many people from there worked in the Oswestry area.

There is a Sissy DAVIES aged 6 on the 1891 Census in Shropshire.  Born Shrewsbury, daughter of Thomas and Sarah, has sister Edith and brother John.

I am using An****** UK and she comes up just fine using Sissy as first name and DAVIES as surname.  Father's occupation is a stud groom and he and wife Sarah are born Welshpool Montgomeryshire.

What age are the parents, Karen?

I've got lots of Montgomeryshire records if it's the correct family.

1891 they are in St Chad.  Father's age is given as 41 and mother is 25...either he married late or she is wife #2.

Got them on the 1891 - they come up first on the search. Not sure why dancer can't find them  :-\

Not enough info to pin Thomas down at the moment.
