Do you know when Frederick died? And who and when Ellen possibly re-married? And when Eileen was born?

I can possibly start investigating with that information.

Eileen died on 10/12/1966 and I can’t quite read the age it was 6_ on her headstone.

I was told she had a sister called Hilda and a brother Fred. 

This Frederick never married he is Ellen’s son.

Hi Beth,

Ellen Hutton (nee Keleher) was discharged from the New Norfolk Asylum in April 1897. She subsequently gave birth to Frederick Hutton in August 1898, in Burnie listing John Hutton as the father, however, John at that stage was living in Corowa, and there is no indication that he returned to Tasmania.

Then, I have an Ellen Hutton giving birth to a James Hutton in 1903 and Ellen was in Highfield, Tas (no father recorded), and then Adeline Hutton in 1905 (again no father and Ellen was listed as living in Forest, Tas) then she had Reginald Hutton in 1907 (she is listed as a widow, and was living in Whales Head, although the birth certificate lists place as Marrawah)..........then I lose all traces of her.

It is possible, given these dates, that Ellen (using her maiden name) could have been the mother of your Eileen......and that she then left Eileen with Fred (or his family).

This is such a tricky one, that until we get further clues, it may be hard to solve.

I can see no marriage for the above parents.

A Frederick HEALD married Sarah POKE in 1904 at Stanley.  I would suggest this Frederick was born 1878 son of Frederick HEALD and Mary McFADDEN . Frederick and Mary had eleven children.  Frederick Snr may have died in 1917 in hospital at Latrobe, no age on the indexes in this era.

The son Frederick died in 1954 - four sons and one daughter.  I can only see birth regs for three sons and one dau on my resource.

Thanks Cando.........perhaps Ellen and Frederick did have a short relationship, and Eileen was born.......maybe DNA might be the only answer.

I am determined to find her!
