Hi Michelle

Glad you managed to get onto Dunedin cemeteries site  ... (and you're a clever girl for taking the other option).   :)
[Have to admit, that site can at times, be a bit dodgy to hook up to ... I've got two separate links to it, just in case there are problems].

But some good news   ...  I'm pretty sure I've found the missing child "Janet" (who appeared with Daniel and family on the passenger list).

From NZ Marriage Index

Jennet McGregor Millar ANDREWS
Albert HERUM
Year - 1933    (Folio # 06376)

From Archives New Zealand (Dunedin office)

Divorce :   (Shouldn't surprise ... huh ?)    ;D

Jennet McGregor Millar HERUM v. Albert Lui HERUM - 1939 - 1940 :

("Janet" / Jennet .. cont'd)  >>

Marriage  #  2

Jennet Millar
HERUM
James Kent ROBERTSON
Year - 1940   (Folio # 11543)

From Dunedin Cemeteries database

Anderson's Bay Cemetery - Block 196   Plot 62

HERUM - Margarita Louise Jean - 47 years, spinster - died 6 April 1982 :
(Born c. 1935 - I am guessing that this is the daughter of Jennet and Albert Lui HERUM) ?

ROBERTSON - James Kent - 47 years - died 3 June 1954 :
(Presumably husband # 2 of Jennet) ?

ROBERTSON - Jeannette McGregor - 62 years - died 9 November 1970 - Widow :
(Born c. 1908.   The online cemetery record however, states "Native of New Zealand" (62 years)  .... but we well know that all sorts of errors appear on death records) ?

That great about Jennet, and her many husbands, but did you notice what the Block and Plot no is.  8)

AND  ... the mystery of the "family plot" is NOW SOLVED !

Annie Calderhead Miller ANDREWS

From Dunedin Cemeteries database  - cemetery record for :

Anne Cauldhead BYRON - died 29 May 1989 - aged 83 years (b.c. 1906) - cremation :

You'll see there are two records for her - one gives a plot number at Anderson's Bay cemetery;   the other record states "Ashes - family plot interment - 2 June 1989" - but the plot number doesn't relate to the other ANDREWS (or BYRON) family burials ?    Perhaps you can email Dunedin and see if they can tell you who else is in the family plot which Annie shares ?

Anne Caulhead BYRON
 (Annie Calderhead ANDREWS)

-  her ashes are interred -

Anderson's Bay Cemetery - Block 196   Plot 62

with  ...
Margarita HERUM, James Kent ROBERTSON and Jeannette McGregor ROBERTSON  (Jennet Millar ROBERTSON formerly Jennet McGregor Millar HERUM  ... nee ANDREWS).  Whew !

Hope all that makes sense.    ???

Even though there are apparent errors with various spellings of her name, I think this is most likely "Janet" .

 :D    :D    :D     Yip !     Of course I did !

(  ...  I lost the post, halfway through typing it  .. and had to start over again  ... hence the delay).

Still can't find the boy named "David" though.

Hi Lucy, I thought you had left it there for me to find,  :) I did look twice at the number to make sure I was seeing correctly and not going crosseyed.
A great find for you ! ;D

I had a little look for those two Andrews from Lanark and found only what you
did, even on the IGI it is the same. ???
Michelle.

Hi Lucy, I thought you had left it there for me to find, :)

:D   [Nah, nah ... it's the wee hours of Monday morning here ... I tend to hit all the wrong buttons and things when I'm half asleep.]

Mmm ... yes, probably not much more info to be had from IGI ?

Let's hope though that contact can be established with the "GenesReunited"  person.    :)

Hi all,

Have had a reply from "GR".    My question to the researcher was "Do they have any Daniel Craig Miller Andrews that came to NZ in their tree  ... and did he have a brother John who also came to NZ ...... and that I was helping a descendant who could be a possible link"

This is the reply:

Yes and yes so hopefully you can solve one of my problems. My gran was Annie Calderhead Andrews daughter of John Andrews and Mary Miller. She had brothers John Daniel and David. David I have. He worked and died in Edinburgh. Daniel and John vanished from Scottish records. Daniel was born 1872/1873 in Hamilton Scotland and John on 13/12/1869 in West Calder then part of Midlothian. Their parents died young and they were brought up by Grandfather David Miller.

I have been invited to look at the tree.   So the next step - would you like me to invite the researcher to rootschat or Michelle pm's me her email address and I pass it on.

Great news, lets hope Michelle checks back soon.

You could always let the researcher know about this thread, what do you think, then they can join in if they want  ;D
Thanks for doing that, Kiwihalpint
