Thanks, vetty, for the info. on George. I hope it's the right man, as it has his d.o.b. as 1811, not 1814. THAT date comes from the 1871 census, where he is age 56. At that time, he was married to Hannah, 19 years his junior. Incidentally, as an ignorant Southerner, which Norton is this?
