COMPLETED Lilley family - South Shields (possibly Hebburn)
« on: Monday 10 November 08 09:35 GMT (UK) »
Hello folks

Venturing onto this board to say that if anyone ever recognises the following family group, it would be interesting to hear from you:

Andrew Lilley m Margaret Hendry in South Shields 10/5/1916

Children were or included:

female (removed name as requested) Lilley b 1919
male (removed name as requested) Lilley b   1923

I believe their address after marriage was 16 John Street, Hebburn-on-Tyne.

Andrew was from Ireland and links with some families I have been researching there.

Hi
I see a birth appears on freeBMD.   I am a little concerned that the children may still be living so we should not be publishing any details about them.  Can you amend your post if you know they are alive?  If you know they are not that makes life easier!

My interest in the family stems from Andrew linking to a family I have researched in Ireland from pre1900. Don't know anything of the family from his time in England, other than what I have freely discovered online. I found both potential childrens births on FreeBMD, as anyone can. Happy to remove the children's names, though, but if anyone wants to look for them, they too can check Free BMD.

Assume you will now also remove the name from your post above to keep matters in order.

Yes, I have done so!  Would looking at the electoral roll help in your search?  Street Directories?

Belated reply. Happy to just leave this post open in case anyone ever recognises the family. At moment, no look ups in electoral rolls/street directories required, thanks.

I know they are Lilley's in the areas you mention that come from Tweedmouth and the men are Iron moulders.

Popped in to look at this thread again. Have recently heard tell of a snooker player from Hebburn with the Lilley surname. Realise he may in no way link to the family above, but If anyone who happens onto this thread knows the chap in question (google for name), perhaps you could mention my quest to him.
