Hello Elaine,
I am interested in Archibald, Moffat, and Beveridge family in Newton Kirkyard.
The info you have posted about Abraham Archibald and his wife Marjorie Robertson has excited me as they are my GGGG Grandparents.
I would appreciate any more info on above families.
Thanks

Colin Harrower

Hi garibaldired

I now have the book on the burials at the Newbattle Cemetery Churchyard - well worth the purchase as I have found many relations buried there.

Re:
Hannah Dobbie ms York died Jan 1875 - couldn't find anything at Newbattle

Alexander Dudgeon died August 1861 - he is buried at Newbattle Churchyard but the plot is unknown:

DUDGEON Alexander, aged 32, Newtongrange, interred 30/8/1861

Elisabeth Dudgeon ms Dobbie died Jan 1900. - buried in plot no. 17/7 - no headstone:

Elizabeth Dudgeon, aged 85, Newtongrange, interred 27/1/1900

regards

Carol

Hi Carol,

Thank you very much for that information.
Sounds like a good idea to buy the book - you can often pick up on the unexpected when you look through a list.

Thanks again.

Hi Lynda,

There isn't a George Robertson listed that matches, however doen't mean that he isn't buried there.

The burial register looks like it starts at about 1855 and earlier deaths and burials are only known from headstones. I know I have rellies (dec'd befer 1855) who appear on old parish records but not is the book.

regards

Carol
