Tipperary Town/Nenagh
« on: Sunday 23 November 08 22:19 GMT (UK) »
I have two books, 'Exploring Family Origins' from Tipperary Town and Nenagh. In both are 1901 & 1911 census records (short version) Register of Electors 1940/41 (Tipperary town)
Should anyone require a look-up in either, please let me know, but please allow a few days before a reply will be posted on this thread.
Regards, Jack

Hi Jack,

I'd be really greatful if you could look up any Donohue/Donoghue/O'Donoghues in Nenagh, primarily in the 1911 census. Key names are Edward (more likely to be a householder) or William (would be very very young if born at all) or possibly patrick Donohue. a Key street (if it has that information) is St. Joseph's Park.

Any help will be fantastic as these people are proving to be elusive!

Thanks very much for this information Jack. It seems the census entries might not have helped too much at first look, but the electoral register coroborates stories!

Many thanks

Hi Jack I just come across your site. I am seeking information about my 3 x great grand parents.
The family saga begins with the arrival of my great great grandfather James Patrick Hart who was born in Nenagh, Tipperary, Ireland in 1820. His parents were John and Ellen Mary Hart. He was one of four children, siblings were John, Frank and Mary Ellen
We know nothing of his earlier life but at aged 24 years in 1844 he committed the crime that sent him to Van Diemens Land.
I am curious as to his life before he committed his crime. Are there any descendants who would be interested in knowing what happened to Patrick after leaving Ireland. What was his father's occupation. Any information would be welcomed,

Regards Bev Robinson

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.
