Jane KENNY daughter of Thomas KENNY and Mary
« on: Friday 05 December 08 00:01 GMT (UK) »
Hello there, I am currently researching Jane KENNY, daughter Thomas KENNY and Mary. She emmigrated aboard the William and Mary in 1849, with her sister Mary KENNY. Jany KENNY would have been roughly born about 1831, her sister Mary 1829.
Janes emmigration record says she was born CHURCHTOWN MEATH, Mary KENNY POREMAINE MEATH.
There father Thomas KENNY is dead, and their mother is listed at living at two different places. Jane KENNYS record says CHURCHTOWN MEATH, Mary KENNYS record says BOYERSTOWN.
I'm interested in finding out more about the family in IRELAND. Are there any rellies out there that recognise the info?

hi sunshine

I can't see a Poremaine (any spelling) in Meath.
Churchtown is a civil parish in Co Meath.
Boyerstown is in the civil parish of Ardbraccan in Meath.
both west of Navan town

Hello,
I am not sure how old your post is or whether you have found any information on Jane and Mary Kenny.
Jane was my 2xgreat grandmother and I haven't been able to find any information on her past what you probably have already.
I have info. on her marriage and births of 4 of her children.
I wonder if we are related.
Regards,
Lyn

if you Kenny's were RC
Churchtown is in the RC parish of Dunderry
https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0931
and Boyerstown in the neighbouring parish of Bohermeen
https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0900
Neither register starts early enough for the sisters but there may be later children born to the family.

Thank you Sinann.

When Jane and Mary came to Australia their father was deceased.
Interesting idea though.  The registers may come in handy in the future.
Regards.
