Elldina mentions that the younger couple married in 1916 and that James was in Canada from 1903, so it's probable that they married in Canada.

James Murdock CLARK  emmigrated to canada in 1903  ended up in saskatoon and married in 1916  to an Elizabeth AVERY

Hi Gadget, I was meaning the marriage of Alexander and Eliza Sim. I thought an opr marriage would have them too old in late 1881 to have children.

Alexanders death record would hopefully give his parents names.

So Eliza was about 7 years older than she said on the 1891   :)

Eight possible James Clarks leaving UK (Glasgow or Liverpool)  for Canada within the time frame 1891-1903 and birth circa 1882. I'll look at the passenger lists in more detail tomorrow but it will be difficult to decide.

I've wizzed through the eight and the only one that seems a possible  is this one:

left Glasgow 20 March 1903 for Halifax on the Sardinian. Aged 23, single, farmer

It might be worth having a look on the 1901 census for him. If he was a seaman, he might show up.

Good morning, elldina  :)

Have you got the family on the censuses 1861-1901?  I've only put up the details of the 1891 one because it was the first one that James would show up on but you'll be able to see the family through time if you get the whole set.

I don't want to repeat what you've already got.
