No probs...

Let us know as soon as you get some sort of confirmation of James' father's name, and we can see what else we can find !

Thank you.  In order to find out how to obtain a marriage certificate for
James Peavoy and Catherine Tierney I will need to go on to the 'Other
Countries' part of the Forum as they were married in an R.C. Chapel
in India (Fortress Grrahor if I have read it correctly) while James was
serving in the Army.  How do I go about that? Do I need to ask for
These postings to be moved again to that site?

post a new thread, just with the details you have on the marriage, and asking about a cert.

The Other Counties section is here

Given the army connection it might turn out to be an 'Armed Forces' type query, but we can always move the post there if required..

Remember to check the Resource boards :  Ireland, Dublin, Antrim & Cork (and stickies at the top of other county sub-forums)

Although Charles Peavoy was the eldest child born in Ireland James
and Catherine did have two other children, Harriett born 1879 in
Bengal and Alfred James born 1882.  I have also found out that
one of James' brothers could be William Peavoy who married
Margaret Lyons and they had a son called Alfred born in Poonah
India.  Maybe in that case the father's name is Alfred.

I am in touch with the British Library through the Other
Countries Board to find out how to get the marriage certificate
and looking some more into William and Margaret which
might be an easier route.  Will keep you posted.
