Thanks Alan for the reply.
My Grandmother Lilian Mary Gibson married Albert Edward Wakeham in 1921.
1911 Census shows Lilian as living in 56 Saunby St Garston and Albert in 17 Raglan St Garston.  They had 2 children and then something happened, perhaps he left for someone else. My Grandmother would not talk about it. She remarried twice. They went onto live in Pighue Lane and then to the Bowring Park area.
Only other reference I have is that my dad got a telegram whist at sea that his father had died suddenly on 13 Jan 1946. Not sure if this relates to his actual father or the person he thought was his father. Regards David

Hiya...I live in Garston and my family have been here since 1840`s ...very close knit community here..there`s not many families I don`t know.if I can help at all post here or PM me . allan

Jolly nice of you, Garstonite!
I am looking into my grandfather named Henry Gerard  Connor. He married Mary Alice Ross in 1917 in Kirkdale but the family was living on Long Mile Road where my uncles Harry, Desmond, Aunt Joan and my Dad Len were all born.
They immigrated to Canada in 1825.
Now my gran Mary Alice was a piano player and singer. She may have put in an appearance or two at the George Inn on St Mary's Road as her father's (Joseph Ross) barber shop was attached to it. My granddad was also a piano player-classical was more his style. Mary Alice had the opportunity to go to New York City  in 1915 to accompagny silent films. I belive she may also have sung in London. Are any of these long time Garstonites known to you? I sure hope so!
Cheers!
Nathalie :)
