Hi All

There is only one Philip Rondel baptised in St Mary in 1837, so I think it safe to assume that is the correct one.

Philip Rondel - Baptised 27th April 1837 in St Mary (born 18th March 1837) to Philip Rondel and Mary Ann Pirout. Godparents were Helier Vibert and Anne de la Perrelle.

Likewise there is only one Esther baptised in Trinity in 1835

Ester (note no "h") Caroline Mollet - Baptised 16th August 1835 (no birth date) to Jean and Margaret Renouf. Godparents were George Marett and Nancy Mollet.

When it came to a marriage, I only looked in the Parish of Trinity but could see a marriage for Esther (this time with the "h") Caroline Mollet. The index is:

Parish of Trinity, August 1842 to April 1868 on page 113.

However I then crossed checked to see if there was a Philip Rondel on the same page and there wasn't. There was one on page 115 so I think next is a trip to the Registry Office to look at the certificate. It could be just a typo in the index.

Thank you Steward and down under,  I really appreciate you help on this

So, my GG Grandfather PHILIP RONDELS’ parents were Philip Rondel and Mary Ann Pirout.

There doesn’t seem to be any trace of the family after the 1841 census other than my GG Grandfather PHILIP RONDEL who seems to have been brought up by John Collyer and Nancy Rondel.

The other family in the 1851 & 1861 census have similar names but I am pretty sure they are not my ancestors

There has been a lot of info coming at me and I hope I have it right, what do you think?

The John/Jean Mollet I think are your Mollet family 1851/61
Because Francis Mollet 1851 deaf and 1861 Dumb, is Francois Mollet age 47 imbecile with Ester and Philip Rondel 1891.

Of course you are right. I don't know what I was thinking of when I wrote that, it does get quite complicated, doesn't it.  :-\  lol

I've now seen the certificate and can confirm that were indeed married 22d Feb 1857. (Philip Rondel is indexed under page 115 but is in fact on page 113).

Philippe Rondel married Esther Caroline Mollet at Trinity Parish Church, 22nd Feb 1857. Both were living in Trinity at the time whilst PR was born in St Mary and ECM in Trinity. Parents were Philippe Rondel and Jean Mollet.
