Help needed with Bell Family,Scarborough 1901.
« on: Tuesday 21 October 08 01:28 BST (UK) »
Hi :),I am trying to trace the family of Randall Copeland Bell of 19 Princess Royal Road Scarborough.Occupation,Vetinerary Surgeon.
On the 1901 Cenus his wife is named as Muriel Bell and there is one child named as Lister D.Bell age 8 months.I am aware of at least one other child,Marjorie Copeland Bell, born September quarter 1901 at Scarborough.Muriel Bell wife of Randall was born 1877 at Newcastle on Tyne and was the daughter of Frances Jane Fenwick McAllum (my great grandfathers sister) and William Joshua Watson.
Parents of Randall Copeland Bell were Thomas Bell,Mining Egineer and H.M. Inspector of Mines, and Margaret Bell.Siblings of Randall were,George Frederick Bell,Thomas Alfred Bell,Charles William Bell and Emily Mary Bell.On the 1881 census they were living at 25 Old Elvet,Elvet Durham.
On the Durham Mining Museum site there is some information about George Frederick Bell of 30 Eldon St Newcastle on Tyne. Also I noticed the name Emerson Muschamp Bainbridge who was a cousin of Muriel Bells mother Frances.Seems to be many  mining connections with the Bell family.
I have found no other information about Randall and his family except for a snippet view from Google books.
From the Royal Blue Book,Parliamentry Guide,1908.Abington Court,Randall Copeland Bell.
I apologise for the haphazard nature of my enquiry, but hope someone out there will recognise some of the names or will be able to help.I originally had posted an enquiry on the  North Yorkshire Look up page, which led to some great help from Indis Vanyar. Many thanks in advance.gereon. :)

Thats so interesting Nell  :oand something to look into. The Copeland must be a family name.Another interesting piece of information from the Durham Mining Museum,Thomas Bell, father of Randall Copeland Bell, has his address for the years 1896-1898 as 15,The Valley Scarborough and 1909,as 40 Esplanade Road Scarborough.Moving slowly on this difficult  but fascinating, branch of the family.gereon :)
