Very interesting, thanks!  So are we related then, or are you from another Evans family?  Do you have any stories of the history of Powerscourt?  Must have been an amazing place to spend childhood in.

Thanks again,

Anne-Marie

Hi Sorry got the date wrong,my mother Nellie (Ellen) passed away 23rd November 1997 & not 1987 Don't know how I made that mistake, made twice on the same day.My father Charles Arthur Jackson passed away 2nd April 1977.When in Wicklow he used to enjoy a pint or 2 in Phil Healys bar.

I have been reading this chat in the hope that someone may be researching the Evans family of Arklow. The direct family line in which I am particularly interested includes Edward Evans (1801-1852), John Fairbrother Evans (1837-1915), John Fairbrother Evans (1876-1937). There appears to be no connection with Evans in Greystones/Delgany/Wicklow. Is there anyone out there who shares this interest?
Evans, Willoughby, Horan, Sweny, Harding.
