TREWREN/WILLIAMS/TROON - Ludgvan
« on: Sunday 28 December 08 06:43 GMT (UK) »
Please someone I need help, I'll start from the beginning.

Richard Taylor Williams married Jennifer Trewren at Ludgvan on 22/1/1842, on the 1851 census is stated a Jane Troon 84 years, visitor, I assume it is her grandmother, or is that my first mistake?  So on IGI and other sources, I find good reference to Jennifer Troon & Joseph Trewren married 16/7/1803.  Then on Jennifers birth certificate of 18/10/1803 at Ludgvan, it states her father as John Trewren but I'm finding nothing to connect apart from Joseph.  Do I have the wrong birth certificate?  Can a kind soul please tell me what I am missing. :(

Many thanks

Julie

Hi Julie,  When you say  "Then on Jennifers birth certificate of 18/10/1803 at Ludgvan, it states her father as John Trewren "  to what exactly are you referring as birth regs were not in existence in 1803? Civil Registration wasn't in until 1837 I think.

So is it info from a baptism register?

Hi
According to the 1851 census Jennifer is 33 years of age so not likely to be baptised in 1803.   I think you are muddling the generations.  The marriage certificate from 1842 would help as that will give her father's name and occupation.  I have looked for her in 1841 but without success so far.
However I may have got them in 1861.  RG9 1579 54 27 in Redruth
Richard G? Williams widr 44 Railway porter b Ludgvan
Richard Williams son 18 Railway clerk b St Ives
John Trurn? Williams son 13 b Ludgvan
James H Williams 10                    "
Susan J? Williams 2   B Redruth
Nanny Donnithorne? boarder unm 46 House keeper b Redruth
Edwin        "                       "        2  25    Brass founder b Redruth

Did Jennifer die young?
Andrea

Hi Julie,

Jennifer TREWREN was baptised Ludgvan 9 Sep 1817 Parents John and Jennifer

John TREWREN = Jennefer TROAN 29 Jun 1816 Ludgvan

They had at least another daughter Mary bap 13 Mar 1825 and 2 sons Henry 1 Aug 1819, and John 24 Nov 1822.

1841 census

HO107/142/11 Folio 41 Page 17
Lawquarth
Ludgvan

TREVERRIN John 45 Ind
TREVERRIN Jane 45
TREVERRIN Jane 23
TREVERRIN Henry 21
TREVERRIN Mary 15

Jenifer and Jane are interchangeable names (particularly in Cornwall)

John TREWREN bap 15 Aug 1791 Ludgvan parents Joseph and Elizabeth
Joseph TREWREN Carpenter = Elizabeth CHILEW 21 Oct 1774 Ludgvan

Jennifer TROON bap 21 Oct 1792 Ludgvan parents James and Jennifer
James TROON = Jane LENTON 6 Aug 1792 Ludgvan

There are 2 Jane Troons of the same age  in Ludgvan. One is next door in 1841 with the Quick Family. Looking at this she may be Jenifer's grandmother Jane LENTON but since relationships are not given it is impossible to say.

Cheers Kris  :)

To Charlotte, Andrea and especially Kris

I don't know how you do it.  As usual I put the cart before the horse and come up with spilt milk.
I think I have some figuring out to do.  You are truly wonderful people.

A very happy Julie
