Family Trecynon Aberdare
« on: Tuesday 08 February 05 17:57 GMT (UK) »
I'm searching for the Evans family from Trecynon/Aberdare region. John and Hannah Evans had six children - William John, Phoebe, Martha, Sarah, Margaret Rose and Mary Anna ( who died young). I cannot find them on any of the censuses. The only date I know of is Sarah, my grandmother's date of birth - in 1882 and death - in 1953.

Jones - Llanllyfni, Clynnog

After much searching, I think I may have found your family in the 1891 census.

Some details were a bit difficult to read on my copy, but I have provided the census reference to enable the details to be verified on the census fiche.
Sarah's age is shown as 4, though. Perhaps a mistake was made when transcribing a '9' from the original householder's census return ???

Thank you SO much Vicky. I've learnt so much from your researches. It's also encouraged me to find out about Anna by great grandmother having found out she came from Carmarthenshire. Family word has it she was decended from General Picton, of Picton castle, Pembs.

You are great! Thank you so much. It helps so much to have a date of birth to use when you're dealing with a name like John Evans. Good luck with your research.
