Do you have any other evidence, other than the girls' baptisms re Walter and Mary Ann?
Did they continue to live in Herefordshire?
I wonder if they were brought up by aunt and uncle from childhood and called them parents?
As we can't see any death registrations after 1837 for Walter - maybe they did die before then.
It's all very odd.

I know this was a long time ago but are you still looking for information re Walter Carrington, Mary Anne Godrich and their daughters Elizabeth and Mary?

I can't add much but I have Elizabeth (born or baptised 30 July 1810 at Stoke Prior) as marrying W John Hood in 1830 (no location, I'm afraid). This hasn't been verified but comes from an old hand drawn family tree (1930ish). The Carringtons (well some of them) are part of my ancestry hence my interest. There is other information about the family but not well organised.
CARRINGTON, COULSON, FOWLER, INGLE, JOYCE, SHAW, SLATOR, WARD, YATES, la
FONTAINE in Leicestershire, Derbyshire & neighbouring counties.
