Hi bokie

I haven't got an Elizabeth Tulip in my direct tree that is the right age to have married in 1909.  However I do have various branches - do you have her parents names?

Joanna
Tulip, Button, Slater, Clay, Sleeman, Laverick, Whordley, Rowell.

This is not really a reply but I feel the information should go up with other data about Tulips in Northumberland.  My ancestor, Margaret Tulip, was born about 1713.  In the will of her first husband (William Akenside) of 1740 he mentions her family.  Her father was (almost inevitably) a Samuel Tulip.  A witness to the will was a Matthew Tulip, I suppose highly likely to have been Margaret's brother.  William and Margaret lived in the Stamfordham area of Northumberland so presumably Margaret's family were not far distant.  Unfortunately the Akensides tended to be nonconformists so it has not been possible to find where the marriage took place.
