Basset Hotel, Redruth
« on: Sunday 04 January 09 06:54 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for any info on the above Hotel where my GGGGrandfather died in 1879.  There was
also a mention of a Basset Street on the 1871 Census I'm guessing they're connected.

Cheers
Julie

Julie, do you have details of where the family were in 1871 and 1881?  This might help to narrow it down a bit.

If Floozy has found the right Hotel, then I'm afraid I drove past it yesterday and it looks like they are in the process of knocking it down.

Thanks Cornish maid

Census for 1871 states 68 Basset St and he died in 1879 at the Basset Hotel.  If you go there regularly I'd love a photo if there is an intact one available or as it stands now, even if it is only half there.

Many thanks
Julie
