Ok I've now found a birth reg for Richard A Shackleton
July qtr 1922 mothers maiden name Francis reg dist Kingston (upon thames) Vol 2a page 822.

Also googled Cedric Shackleton and certainly during the war years he was an army medical docter - and was imprisioned in Japan,  so it is possible that his & Vera's married is not in the british records if he was in the army earlier

Births Jun 1921   (>99%)
Shackleton  Cedric J H  mother maiden name Francis  Kingston  2a 888

Births Sep 1922   (>99%)
Shackleton  Richard A  mothers maiden name Francis  Kingston  2a 822

The Times of 30 Aug 1952 has an engagement announcement for the "only daughter" of Colonel C.O. and Mrs Shackleton of South Newington, Banbury, Oxfordshire.  I can PM you the details if that would help (details of living, or possibly living, persons should not be posted on this site).

The PRO has this record

Online Document WO 372/17Medal Card of Shackleton Cedric Overton Royal Army Medical Corps Lieutenant Royal Army Medical Corps Captain . Medal Card of Shackleton Cedric Overton Royal Army Medical Corps Lieutenant Royal Army Medical Corps Captain Date range: 1914 - 1920.

So it appears he was in the army during WW1 as well - I can't see the marriage to Vera - though I have found a possible birth reg for a Vera Francis in 1892 in Brentford,  I think there is a good chance the marriage was overseas
