Auchtergaven MI's - Dunn, Wylie, Crichton

Thanks for replying with some info on the Dunn/Duns of Auchterarder. DDJJake was kind enough to supply some detail where records state that Andrew Dunn (my GG Grandfather) was born in either Auchtergaven or Auchterarder (quite some miles away). He died in Tibbermore which is sort of half way in between the two A's. I must admit I am having difficulty tracing back any detail on the Auchtergaven Dunn's. It would be nice to link into your Auchterarder Dunn's and perhaps there is a link in there somewhere?
I did not know the "Dunn" link to the Erskine clan and I always thought it was a sept of the McGregors. Thanks for the info.
I see you live in NZ. Have you visited Perthshire on your travels? I am slightly closer in that I stay in Edinburgh.

Sorry I didn't reply to your post earlier but when I was overseas for 4mths last year must have missed on, hence not getting notifications since.

Yes I did stay in beautiful Perthshire & loved every minute of it.  Found it was an easy place to get to know, and felt quite at home there. A friend took me to Cargill Cemetery, Killspindie, had lunch in Dunkeld.  Another good friend drove me to some of his fav. haunts on our way back to Edinburgh where I also stayed & visited Archives etc.
Can't wait to go back again.  Also stayed in Orkney & over to Stronsay for 3 nights.  Wonderful.

If I come across Dunn/Duns in Auchtergaven or connections..will let you know.
Have listed my main forum below if you're interested where you would be most welcome. - at the same time easier to keep in touch.
