Hello Donna, I'm just sorting through some old notes & I have the birth & baptism dates of 2 sons of a Thomas & Polly Rhodes of 6 Penmore Street, Hasland; Thomas was an Engine Fitter.
Harry B: 4 Jan. 1911 & Jack B: 27 Dec. 1912 Both were Baptised on 9 July 1913.
The problem I have is that I don't know what Church they were Bp in.... It might've been St. Paul's but I don't know. It's an old note on a bit of paper...    Sorry

My 3x great grandmother was Sarah Rhodes born Higham about 1810. I believe that she is the daughter of Samuel Rhodes and Mary Gregory and the grand daughter of William Rhodes and Hannah (Unknown).

She married William Stirland / Stirling on Feb 8th 1830 at Duffield in Derbyshire. Sarah had 12+ children and died of heart failure in 1862.

I have traced the Stirland line through to the 1900s but there is too much to put in here. Would love to find out about other Rhodes families.

My great grandfather is Arthur Wildgoose Rhodes, son of Charlotte.  I have a copy of William Rhodes and Frances Holehouse marriage certificate and Arthur Wildgoose Rhodes' birth certificate but you have filled in some birth dates I did not have.  My Mum was told Arthur W-R had been given the Wildgoose name because his father's surname was Wildgoose and he came from Matlock.  Arthur W-R married 3 times, my grandfather born of first wife Elizabeth Marsden.  Arthur W-R died approx 1928 living in Brockwell Lane.

Hi, I see that your G Grand father is Arthur Wildgoose Rhodes, he is my G Father's brother Walter Rhodes. i believe that Arthur and Walter father is a Richard Cotton Wildgoose.
His 2nd wife was Ada Longson (m)5th Aug 1917, 3rd no idea yet.
If you go to page 16/17 you will see your G Grand Fathers brother with his wife and my eldest brother.

I am looking for relatives of William Rhodes b 1806 who in the 1851 Census was a grinder at the Vulcan Foundry Newton Le Willows. Also his wife Elizabeth b 1805. Both originally from Brampton. Their children were Elizabeth 24, Thomas 12, Hannah 10, Charles 2 and Emily 2 months.
