Geroge & Elizabeth Badier - Deaths
« on: Sunday 11 January 09 01:29 GMT (UK) »
Greetings,

I am looking for the deaths of George and Elizabeth - nee Pinoel, Pinwill or Pinwell. I have them on the 1851 census, ages 53 and 54.

George was born in St Helier and Elizabeth in St John.

Kindest regards, Jamjar

Thank you very much for that information.

I do believe it's him. On the 1851 census Charles is 25 and born in Trinity. All the other information fits. Their was another son who was a shoemaker, too.

It's possible that George died in 1865. No suggestions to narrow down death of Elizabeth, although, parents possibly John and Jeanne.

Thanks again,

Jamjar

Hi

A search through the index for St Clement deaths showed:

Elizabeth Badier, March 1851 to December 1865, page 101
George Philip Badier, January 1872 to January 1880, page 51.

As the index is in date order rather than name order, whilst searching for your Badier's I also noted:

Esther, March 1851 to December 1865, page 22
Rachel Elizabeth, December 1865 to December 1871, page 31
Jean, December 1865 to December 1871, page 36
Jane, January 1872 to January 1880, page 100.

Thank you Stewart,

If he died '72 - '80 wouldn't he be on the '71 census.

How would I go about getting a certificate? I did it some year ago, but have forgotten how I did it.

Hi Jamjar

If you look at the enclosed link, it explains how to order a certificate:

http://genuki.weald.org.uk/CHI/alex/CIResearch.html#faq4

I agree that if he died within those dates you would expect to see him in the 1871 census. The only way to prove it is to get the certificate.

Hi
I have details of a tree sent to be by a Norman Pinwill in 1999 (b 1924 and died about 10 years ago). He had lived in Dyfed Wales, and get the impression he may not of had any children.
There was an Elizabeth Jeanne Pinoil baptised 15 January 1797 in St Jean (St John),  The godparents were listed as Jean Bisson, Jeanne Bisson and Elizabeth Simon.  Elizabeth had siblings of Jeanne (1795), Nere (1799), Jean (1801), George (1803), Joseph (1806) who married  Amelia Jane Bean - Norman Pinwill was a descendant of Joseph,  Philippe (1808), Clement (1811), Elie (1813) and Tam 1816,
Elizabeth's parents were Jean Pinoil who married Jeanne Simon (baptised, 1 January 1774 St Jean (John)  They were married on 18 October 1794 in St Jean (John) .
It would appear that the Pinwill spelling started about 1854.
There are no death dates on the tree.
Let me know if this is your Elizabeth,

Thank you epenwell.

I do believe that I have correspondence from Norman as well, and yes the connection was made.
