Here is the probable arrival of Florence into QLD.

STAMBRIDGE, FLORENCE age 18, per INDUS 29th DEc. 1874.

I thought I'd tried every spelling of the name but no.  Just goes to show that many brains are better than one.

Well,
We can now probably confirm that FLORENCE MABEL was the first born of Florence Alice's known children.  Regross in his good finding of the sister ELLEN's birth, did not mention the year.

She had been in Australia about 6 or 7 months it seems before little FLORENCE was on the way!

[Interesting to note that on FLORENCE MABEL GALLETLY's index entry at SPRINGVALE Crem/Cem, she is listed as Mabel Florence, so the changing of order in given names was not unnusual in the family perhaps]

Also in this grave is Ellen B Excell buried on 19/02/1914 aged 35 years.

Edith Alice Stanbridge with father unknown and mother Florence Stanbridge was born in 1885 in Melbourne.  The registration number 19434.

but  I  cannot find a corresponding marriage or death after 1889, in Victoria that is.
