Detailed Ontario atlas, with land owners names, late 1800s
« Reply #6 on: Thursday 27 April 06 21:13 BST (UK) »
Hi - not sure if this one is on here yet.  It contains digitized versions of the Ontario atlases that were published around 1880 for every county in Ontario. The name of the person occupying each lot/concession is printed on the map.  It is searchable by name and location.

Often the names only have the first initial, so you need to be fairly confident about what township they were in in order to know you have the right person.  And, if your person was a "prominent member of society" they could pay to have their bio, photo, or photo of their house included in the atlas, so sometimes you find extra tidbits.
