Hello Ivonne. Thomas and Jane Rowell had at the time of the 1861 census seven children. Here is the 1861 census listing for the family:-
RG 3727 Folio 66 schedule 31.

Jane Rowell,      Wife,   Married, age 47,                       Hilton, Yorkshire
Thomas            Son,                 age 17, Coke burner,   Yarm
Jane                 Dau,                 age 14                        Etherley
Margaret,          Dau                  11                              Fir Tree
John,                Son,                    9                             Beechburn

George              Son,                   5                             Wolsingham.

You can see that he was working at the local pits.
His job as a coke burner  was working on coke ovens turning coal in to Gas and coke fuel.

Here are the baptisms for some of their children:-

Margaret Rowell, born 17/April/1849 and baptised 23/April/1849, parents Thomas and Jane Rowell, maiden name Wilson, sponsor Margaret Story.

John Rowell, born 2/may/1851, and baptised 17/October/1852, parents Thomas and Jane Rowell, maiden name Wilson, sponsors Rev John Rooks  and Castherine Maughan, (the dates suggest that he was born someplace where there was not a catholic church and they had to wait until they arrived at Wolsingham/Tow Law.)

Edward Rowell, born 9/June/1853, baptised 27/March/1853, Parents Thomas and  Jane Rowell, maiden name Wilson, sponsor Bernard Harvey.

Here is another Rowell:-
Henry Rowell, born 6/Oct/1861, baptised 2/February/1862. parent Frances Rowell (unwed?) sponsor Francis Quinn.

Here is the marriage for Ann Rowell:-
Anna Rowell, married to John Cheeseman 9/June/1879 at Tow Law St Joseph's,
parents (fathers only) Thomas Cheeseman and Thomas Rowell, witness Joseph Cheeseman and Elizabeth Doyle.
