Frederick Mildern Colston
« on: Thursday 10 February 05 17:13 GMT (UK) »
Hi-ya
Can anyone help?.  I am looking for infomation on my Grandfather.
Name:   Frederick Mildern Colston
Born:     England/ Bristol March 1889
Census:   Barton Regis of that year.

He then appears aged 2years 1891 in the district of Eastville still in Bristol.

Then he appears again in the 1901 census aged 12yrs.
Living as a lodger in the household of
WALLACE J GREGORY (head of household)
Occupation: Wheelwright
Address:  33 Gladstone Street Bristol.

From there I have no knowledge of what happened to him.  I was told that he enlisted in the Army at the age of 24yrs, in the Calvery regiment, but this is uncertain. I believe that my grandfather may of had siblings. But again this I am not certain of.

He married Jessie or Jessica Duffy or Duffield, who was born in Wales and had 2 brothers, that is all I know.

Would be so pleased to find any info. I have tried without any luck at all.

Many thanks

Names:
Colston,Doyle,Duffy or Duffield, Lacroix.

Hi Lyndsey,

Have you found a Marriage Certificate yet for Jessica  and Frederick Colston ?

If not you might want to try www.freebmd.com which might feature the marriage but this is an ongoing project and is not complete.

Sarah :)

Hi Sara
Yes I was very lucky in having some help, well infact most of the info was provided by JeannieR here on rootschat. She found for me all the info needed i.e. marriage certificate for my g/randparents. Lucky old me !
So really all I have to do is send off and collect the certificate, which I shall be doing a.s.a.p.
I feel a bit of a sham really,in that I hadn't really had to search hard, like some members.  But like Jeannier explained now I have the details the hard work starts off, you see my G/grandfather I was to discover by another rootschatter Darcy, was adopted ouch!!... so watch this space........
bye Sara thanks for the contact.
