Gadget, this is also a Galloway name, given in "Galloway Gossip!"  variously as McJore, Georges & Ure!

I'll have to get mine down.

So we have him born Dundee, D & G and Liberton. I'll check D & G records for David McGeorge.

Dec q, 1856, Sunderland, vol 10a page 483

If you get this cert, their fathers' names and occupations will be on it and you can work backwards from there.


I've had a look on Durham Record online but nothing so far.
