Mary Cheesman/Churchman Surrey
« on: Wednesday 28 January 09 06:07 GMT (UK) »
Could anyone help with looking at the parish registers in Frimley.  Not sure of the church.  This is for the marriage of John Tough Finch and a Mary Churchman (possibly Cheesman).  I believe they were married on 16/10/1830 (this is from the IGI).  They had a son Christopher in c1832.  I believe Mary also married a William Watts but no info on whether this was before or after her marriage to John.  She may have had an illegitimate son called James.  This is a little mystery for me and a fellow researcher in Australia.  Thanks

Hi

Looked on the Surrey Marriage Index and indeed Mary Churchman married John Finch on 16 October 1830 at Frimley.  Both of this parish.

Thanks Kerry.  Does it give the Church?  It would be nice to visit and look round the churchyard for clues.  Maggie

Hi maggie

Just been and checked and no it doesn't so I presume there is only one Parish Church in Frimley and that will be it.
